Howdy Folks!

Hello and welcome to the MacMorton wedding blog!

This is your one-stop shop for all the info you need to know about our July nuptials. Along the side you’ll find links to pages that remind you of the details of the ceremony, links to the hotel that’s offering us a deal, information about our gift registry and much more.

What do you think of the name of the blog? MacMorton. It has a nice ring to it, don’tcha think? We got started thinking about the name because of New Brunswick’s soprano star, Measha Gosman, who created a new name for her family when she married Markus Brügger – they both now use the surname Brueggergosman.

Then we read this article that mentioned other couples who merged their names: Jean Westhafer and Paul Moore became the Westmoores; Michael Weintraub and Janice Myrick dubbed themselves the Weinricks; New York Times correspondent Jodi Wilgoren and Gary Ruderman became the Rudorens; and Lamelle Rawlins and Robert Hyman are now known as the Rymans.

Since Morton is said to come from Scottish origins (think mor as in big, tall – and then look at Alex!), we figured it only made sense to change our family name to MacMorton.

We’d love to know what you think of the name … especially since we’re joking!
